giveaway

This month is National Quilting Month!!!
OK, really it is not the whole month,
but the DAY - the 3rd Saturday of March.
The National Quilt Association declared this Holiday
twenty years ago.
But, you know us quilters,
give us a day and we take a month...
I think it may now be considered
a National Holiday,
don't you??!?

How will you "observe" this holiday???
Take off work?
Spring Clean (or maybe just organize your stash)?
Hit the local Quilt shops on your own little shop hop?
Do a charity project?
I might just do a little of all of the above!
And, I am going to celebrate this holiday
by having a giveaway!!!

I have hinted at this a couple of times, so here goes...

in observance of National Quilting Month,
here's my giveaway...

Three chances at a little something from me to you:
1. a bundle of fabrics (from my collection) used in "A Path to the Civil War"
yep, there's some of that cheddar that makes me drool...

2. a bundle of Fig Tree fabrics "Buttercup"-
so peachy-pretty, (I'm making myself a new apron from this!)...

3. a gadget of some sort...
how about the new Primitive Gatherings
"Itty Bitty Primitive Pinwheel"
ruler/pattern for the cutest littlest twister
(& a fabric kit for the top)...

Leave me a comment on this post,
with which of the three gifts you would choose if you won,
and
tell me how you will celebrate
National Quilting Day or Month. *

The drawing will close at midnight (eastern standard time),
March 17th.

That's two weeks! GO!

Tell your friends (or not!  :)  .
At least tell them "Happy National Quilting Day or Month from me!

*the fine print:
I will email the winners for their shipping address
and send my gifts just after National Quilting Day.
Don't forget that I need to get hold of you if you are a winner,
so leave your email if you are a no-reply person.
If I can't get hold of you or you don't respond to my email I will re-draw another winner.

Happy National Quilting Month
(I'm going with month!),
&
Happy Stitching!!

  1. I am planning to sew all day to celebrate us! But, I have to sew something everyday, so I think it should be "National Quilting Month".
    Thanks for the give-away!

  4. Well, unfortunately, because I am having shoulder surgery on the 4th, the rest of the month will be recover and physical therapy. Not what I have in mind for a celebration!

  5. I organized my tax paperwork. Hopefully, there will be a refund to purchase a Shashiko machine. One can only dream. I love the cheddar fabric but do not want it if you have drooled on it. :-)

  6. Hi, I found your blog by searching on the Little Twister tool that I just purchased last night. I am a beginner that decided to sign up for a block of the month so I will be working on my 7th 12 inch square, this one with 72 pieces! I would like to try out the twister tool too, maybe making a set of place mats for the dining room. We have something in common- I married my high school sweetheart too- really, we grew up 10 houses apart and started "going steady" when I was 14, married 8 years later and will have our 29th anniversary this year. We've got two kids and a lovely granddaughter. For the contest my choice would be the Civil War fabric or the Fig Tree since I just purchased the twister. Thanks for the tutorial. I'll be reading. You can see my blocks on my blog if you want.

  7. I am not usually a fan of the civil war fabrics, but lately they are starting to grown on me. The more I see the use of them the more I like them. The cheddar is my favorite...hint hint.

  9. I'm working hard to complete UFOs so it will take a bit longer than a month! Since I'm also making Barbara Brackman's Civil War blocks #1 would be perfect. Of course, spring is making me think bright colors so #2 would also be perfect. :) blessings, marlene

  11. Heck, we could just have National Quilter's YEAR! Why limit us to just a day or month? I will be traveling to Texas on Natl Quilter's day. I'll visit the quilt shop in my hometown. I'm sure I'll find a few other shops to visit on the way down and back. I'm getting quilty stuff done now, before I go, and I'll play catch up when I get back. I love the civil war fabrics. Check out the one's I purchased for projects on my blog.

  13. Simply love your blog!! Quilting is something to be celebrated every day of the year. I am new to doing this also but have two daughters who are very avid. I have become drawn to Thimbleberries and Civil War fabrics. Any of the groupings would be fine with me. Love your home too! Joan

  14. In honor of National Quilting Month, I started a king size quilt for our bed. It is the pattern Single Girl by Denyse Schmidt and the fabric is Fandango by Kate Spain for Moda long with Kona Cotton in Aqua!
If I could choose, I would pick your lovely prize number three as it is something I've always wanted to try.

  15. To celebrate, I am going to try to reorganize my sewing area and projects to make it easier to sew when time is available, long or short. It is very satisfying to create pretty patchwork and I need to do it more often.
I think I would like the little twister tool and kit. It would be fun to make doll quilts with the small twister for my grandaughters (after I made the 10" quilt for me?)
